Cline Family Cellars
Cline Family Cellars is located in Sonoma County’s beautiful Carneros Valley and is one of the most popular Carneros region wineries. The area takes only 45 mins to drive from San Francisco. Cline Winery, CA, is a renowned family-operated winery focusing on sustainable farming practices. It produces expressive and enjoyable wines for all people and cultivates a friendly, fun, and welcoming environment for its guests. On your visit to Cline, west of the San Pablo Bay, you have to see an expansive historic garden rich in spring ponds, willow trees, and thousands of rose bushes.
Old Vine Zinfandel
Fred Cline started Cline Cellars in 1982 in Oakley, California, making his first vintages from original plantings of Mourvedre, Zinfandel, and Carignane, some of which dated back to the 1880s.
The Rhone Rangers
In 1989, Fred purchased a 350-acre horse farm in Carneros and moved the winery to Sonoma County. As one of the original Rhone Rangers, he began planting varietals that included several vineyards dedicated to Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne. Since those first plantings, Fred and his wife Nancy have continued to plant vineyards throughout Sonoma County and expanding its tasting menu to include more classic varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignane, Cashmere, Gewรผrztraminer, Grenache, late harvest, Mourvรจdre, Petite Sirah, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Rosรฉ, Roussanne, Syrah, Viognier, and Zinfandel.
